New Suzuki GSX-S1000GX Plus and Top Variant for Euro Market

  • ‘Plus’ adds colour-matched side bags for touring practicality
  • ‘Top’ gets comfort seat, Akrapovic exhaust and centre stand

Suzuki is offering two new European-market versions of its GSX-S1000GX crossover as Plus and Top. The idea is to add touring comfort algorithm its superbike powerplant. The GSX-S1000GX sits in a growing space between sport tourers and adventure tourers which keep the pace and chassis feel of a performance road bike with added relaxed, upright riding position for longer time in the saddle. Suzuki might get the range for India as the market is developing quickly for touring capable superbikes needed by corporates and techies to burn their bonuses on.

The GSX-S1000GX Plus is more sport-touring biased with side bags finished in colour-matched trim, making it look more integrated. GSX-S1000GX Top gets a bit more bells and whistles. Adding a comfort seat, an Akrapovic exhaust and a centre stand, alongside the same colour-matched side bags makes it the top of the variant hierarchy.

The creamy smooth 999cc inline four develops 150bhp and 106Nm for both the trims. So the ballistic throttle response and top-end punch of a superbike-derived engine gets eased off paired with ergonomics and equipment to improve long-distance riding experiences. Its aluminium frame and standard electronic suspension further manages sporty agility with comfort for different road surfaces and speeds. There is also an army of electronics like the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System including a multi-level traction control set-up, smart cruise control, a bi-directional quick shifter and ABS with advanced functions to further keep your rides safer.
