It was a huge success, spawned a bunch of special editions, a facelift, Gran Turismo fame and brought all-wheel drive to the (again, relative) supercar masses. Whereas the Murcielago and Aventador were fire-breathing show ponies with deep-chested V12 operatics, the high-revving V10 of the Gallardo and its successor, the even more popular Huracan, became its hallmark.
