NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) – Several people were injured in a crash Saturday evening in New Madrid County, Missouri.
According to the Mo. State Highway Patrol crash report, it happened on U.S. 61 at Interstate 55 at around 7 p.m. on February 7.
MSHP said a 19-year-old woman from Caruthersville was driving a passenger car southbound when she pulled into the path of another passenger car. This second vehicle, driven by a 34-year-old woman from New Madrid, then hit the side of the first vehicle.
Both cars were totaled.
MSHP said the 34-year-old woman had to be airlifted to an out-of-state hospital for her injuries. Three passengers in her vehicle were injured, including a 42-year-old Sikeston man and two children, and were taken to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.
The 19-year-old woman was seriously injured and also taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
